Septic Tank Installation in Central Indiana

When your septic system begins showing signs of trouble, such as slow drains, gurgling toilets, or water pooling in the yard, it can feel overwhelming. At Restorex Septic Solutions, we totally understand how stressful septic issues can be for homeowners. That’s why our family-owned team specializes in guiding Central Indiana families through the process of a septic tank installation with clarity, transparency, and care. From system design and permitting to installation and inspection, we work hard to make sure the job is done right the first time.

Why Professional Septic Tank Installation Matters

A properly installed septic system isn’t just another part of your home; it’s essential for safe and reliable wastewater management. A poorly-installed system can fail prematurely, cause groundwater contamination, and lead to costly emergency repairs. Trust us. We’ve seen it happen.

With Restorex Septic Solutions, you get the benefit of civil engineering and construction expertise. Our background in structural design means your septic system is built to last, sized correctly for your home, and fully compliant with all  Indiana health and environmental codes.

“Residential systems are sized by bedroom count, not by number of bathrooms. It’s about how many people live in the house, not the number of sinks or toilets.”

Signs You May Need a New Septic Tank

Unfortunately, many homeowners don’t realize they need a new septic system until the warning signs are too prominent to ignore. Common red flags include:

  • Drains and toilets backing up or draining slowly
  • Gurgling noises coming from sinks or tubs
  • Standing water or soggy soil over the tank or drain field
  • Persistent sewage odors around your property

If you’re noticing any (or all) of these symptoms, it’s probably time to speak with our septic tank installers. Restorex Septic Solutions will inspect your system and help determine whether repair, rejuvenation, or a full septic tank installation is the right solution for you.

The Septic Tank Installation Process

Installing a septic tank is a multi-step process that requires careful planning and professional execution. To give you some insight, here’s what you can expect with Restorex:

  1. Site Evaluation & Soil Testing. We assess your property’s soil type, drainage, and water table to determine the right system design.
  2. System Design & Sizing. The septic tank size is tailored to your home’s bedrooms and expected water use, ensuring both efficiency and longevity.
  3. Permitting & Regulations. Restorex Septic Solutions handles all the paperwork and approvals, working with local health departments to keep your project completely compliant.
  4. Installation & Final Inspection. Finally, our team installs your septic tank with precision and care, then follows installation with a complete inspection to ensure everything is up to code.

“The install itself goes pretty quickly; it’s a week.

Permitting and soil work can take a couple of months, though.”

Types of Septic Systems & What’s Right for You

Every property is unique and, as such, so is every septic system. The most common options include:

  • Conventional Systems. These are affordable and effective in areas with good soil and drainage.
  • Mound Systems. Designed to accommodate high water tables or shallow soils.
  • Presby Systems. Break down waste faster, ideal for small lots or poor soil conditions.

Not sure which option is right for your home? Don’t worry! Our team will walk you through the choices and recommend the best fit for your property.

Costs, Value & Long-Term Savings

The cost of installing a septic tank depends on your property size, soil conditions, and the type of system required. While a new system is absolutely a significant investment, it’s also an essential safeguard for your home and family.

To that end, Restorex Septic Solutions offers clear, upfront estimates so you know exactly what to expect. We also educate homeowners about maintenance and rejuvenation options when replacement isn’t necessary.

“If you pumped the septic tank once a year, it’s about $375 annually. A drain field replacement is $8,000-$10,000. A full septic system is anywhere from $20,000-$25,000.”

Installing a septic tank also protects your property’s value. A properly designed, code-compliant system reassures future buyers and prevents possible legal headaches if/when it comes time to sell your home.

Septic Tank Installation FAQs

Q: How much, on average, would a homeowner expect to spend on a septic tank installation in Indiana?

A: It’s around $20,000 for a standard three-bedroom new-construction system.

Q: How long does a septic tank installation take?

A: The actual installation only takes about one week. With soils, design, and permitting, the overall process can take a couple of months.

Q: How is effluent handled during a new septic tank installation?

A: If the system is offline, homeowners use what we call a “pump-and-haul” (fill the tank, pump the tank, repeat) and/or strict water conservation until the new system is live.

Q: What soil or groundwater condition most often derails a planned septic tank install?

A: Compacted soils and high water tables. High water tables can force mound systems because you need about 36 inches above limiting layers. The Central Indian region also has a lot of clay that, by its nature, has low loading rates.

Q: Under what conditions would you opt for a poly/plastic septic tank instead of a concrete septic tank?

A: It’s all about access constraints. Concrete septic tanks need a boom truck; poly septic tanks are much lighter and can be set with a skid steer where access is tight. Concrete remains the default when accessible, though.

Q: Do you install monitoring sensors at the time of build? If so, what data do they send and to whom?

A: Sensors/alarms are used on dosing (pump) tanks to alert high level/pump faults to the homeowner.

Q: How many installs did your team complete last year?

A: We complete about 10-20 septic tank installations  per year. That can vary depending on seasonality. Sometimes we get long winters that shorten the installation season.

Q: How do you adjust designs when the percolation rate is marginal but still passable?

A: We would implement a Pressby system because it has a smaller footprint and enhanced aerobic treatment to fit soils/sites where conventional trenches are impractical.
